So I am sitting here watching the 1st of many telethons in the upcoming days to benefit Katrina victims and Mike Meyers and a very nervous Kanye West are in very machine like fashion reading their teleprompters.
When out of no where Mr. West says...
"The President doesn't care about black people." *chirp chirp goes the cricket* "Please call now."
WTF is that???? It might be true, but who says that on national tv?????

i don't thing it's a race thing- it's a poverty thing.
however, it's a damn good thing for bush that this sort of thing didn't happen last year- i'm sure it would have cost him the election. (which, let's face it, would have been a good thing.)
think....t-h-i-n-k.
i got a little carried away with all those "things".
I believe we will see the race card being thrown around a few times. Haters will say that it was the black people that looted, Activists will say it was the black people that were left behind... People are like that. If you analyze the demographics of, say, Los Angeles, the comment would have been that "the President doesn't care about Mexicans" if the tragedy would have happened there. All ignorance... All of it.
I just could not believe that! How can people still think like that?
It's an outrage, whatever the cause. I love my country, but sometimes I really think we need to be on the ball at home more than abroad.
It just seems like we really missed something here in the wake of this storm.
I didn't see that, but The Washington Post had a full transcript. I laughed myself silly reading that. Poor Mike Meyers! Sucks to be him. "Please call..."
Annie and I just sat on the couch jaws hanging open...couldn't believe it.
I like the dude...but....ummm....timing, my friend. It's all about timing.
