Movie Mumblings...

Beavis and Butthead Do America - Huh uh huh uh huh huh.

Match Point - I liked this movie more then I expected. It's little Hitchcock twist at the end, really caught me by surprise. It's a darker film then it was marketed as, and I loved it.

Me, You And Everyone We Know - This is not for everyone. I personally loved it. I found it heartwarming and endearing. It's quirky little charms made me smile. I am becoming more and more fond of the indie films.

What's Eating Gilbert Grape - I have seen most of this movie about 100 times and never the whole thing.

Tootsie - Dustin Hoffman is one ugly woman. But this movie made me giggle alot.

King Kong - OMG THIS WAS SO .... LONG!!!!! 3 hours was way too long! If they had cut about an hour out of the middle it would have been perfect. It made me remember why I hate bugs. I didn't think it was as great as everyone said but it's not bad.

I am going to try and watch The Forsaken yet before bed. But I might be close to my movie max for the weekend.

Movie Mumblings...

Aeon Flux - Not too bad. I dug it. Visually, it was cool as hell. I doubted Charlize Theron's ability to pull it off, but damn! Remind me not to piss that chick off.

Long Day...

Feeling tired
By the fire
The long day is over

The wind is gone
Asleep at dawn
The embers burn on

With no reprise
The sun will rise
The long day is over

Play That Funky Music White Boy...

It appear that Joe was in a funk when he was here a bit ago. I think I shall do my chicken impression on lunch to lift his spirits.

Now, YOU Be The Robber...

...and I'll be the cop.

Sounds like a dirty game! Who wants to play it with me? (Sorry, Joe)

Anyway, hold up alarms went off today. False alarm of course, but I have never been here when the cops have shown up. Let alone multiple squads. Was pretty fun.

That topped with, we have been so unbusy that I was able to stand in the lobby and watch the Goo Goo Dolls on some silly talk show this morning. You will be please to know...Johnny is still yummy.

It's a good day.

Movie Mumblings...

November - I dug it. In fact, I am liking independant art house movies more and more everyday. I like it when movies aren't over-produced and over-acted. Sometimes we like movies, just because the marketing gods tell us to. It's nice to just watch the actors do their job and not be over shadowed by special effects once in awhile (Speaking of bad acting and over the top special effects, Mission: Impossible 3 comes out next week, can't wait!).

I rented it despite the fact that it had Courtney Cox in it. I just can't forgive her for the Scream movies. I was pleasantly shocked. I would watch this again in a heartbeat.

Next up: Match Point and Me, You and Everyone We Know.

Word Of The Day...

Apathy.

Urban Dictionary provides us with one definition that states simply this:

A sterility caused by life's proverbial kicks in the groin.

Seems about right.

No posting from me today (I think, but you know how these things go). Or yesterday for that matter.

I hope you are all well.

HA!

It was mentioned at this weeks supervisor meeting, by a VP at our main office, that they feel I deliver the best customer service in the bank.

In. Their. Face.

New And Improved...

Or just new.

Well, here it is.

Now the trick is...getting
it to look like this in the
morning.

Never gonna happen.

Love it or hate it?

Oops, She Did It Again...

Model parents Britney and Kevin Federline are pregnant with their second child.

Child services heard this and is hiring on a task force to respond solely to calls pertaining to the accident prone parents.

He'd Be So Proud...

Mr. Giggles would be so damn impressed with the fact that I am listening to Korn right now.

I Am Chopped Liver...

Everyone calls to talk to Kiki.

No one ever calls to talk to me.

Today's caller is just more proof.

Explain This To Me...

Why does caffeine have such a strong grip on me?

I never used to even like coffee and suddenly, I can't drive past the little latte shop without drooling!!

Someone explain this to me.

Just Another Example...

...of how spoiled I am.

This came in the mail today from Xan.

Yup. Spoiled.

Faces Of Expression...

There are all kinds fo different faces in my office today. Different expressions.

Crazy La La: I don't know what's up with her, but she's looking at each transaction like it's her first day. I can't decide whether it's the drugs or she's focusing so hard to hear the voices in her head that she can't do anything else. At any rate, she's on auto-pilot.

Saltine: Is so busy arguing with her husband that we doesn't really have time for much else today.

Kiki: Anthony broke her heart again and this is causing her some distress. That piled on with the fact that he's moving and she's on pins and needles waiting to hear back from UW-Oshkosh, she's pretty much spent.

Triscuit: Well, she's a 60 y/o slut. She is spending the entire morning filling me in on the drama that comes with being a 60 y/o slut. She doesn't understand why women are calling her all the time with threats, when she is screwing around with their husbands/boyfriends. She is clueless.

All kinds of interesting emotions running around her today. Should be something when they all start smashing into each other.

Movie Mumblings...

Saw II - Makes me excited for Saw III. Way better then the 1st.

Movie Mumblings...

American History X: DAAAAAMN! Does Ed Norton make bad movies? This movie was compelling as all hell.

Because I Am Spoiled...

In just a few hours, I will have my hands on a copy of the brand spanking new Goo Goo Dolls cd.

Yup, the one that gets released on Tuesday.

I am so spoiled rotten.

Paging Dr. Doolittle...

I came home to a zoo today.

A bird managed to get itself on my back porch. It was chilling out so quietly, that I did not hear it. However, opening the door startled it. Right into the house. Picture me, chasing a mourning dove around my kitchen. Kinda comical.

Well, once I got it back on the porch, the glass windows must have confused it. It kept flying into them. It happened so many times that it dazed itself. While I am trying to scoop the bird onto my badmitton racket, I catch a glimpse of a little brown blur out of the corner of my eye.

That's right.

A mouse.

So once I got the bird out the door, it was time to learn how to set my first mouse trap. Well, I impressed myself by not snapping myself with the trap right away. But the mouse is smarter then me. He got the cheese without setting the trap off. Just moments ago, I heard that snap I had been waiting for. Nope, empty trap. But this time as I am resetting the trap, sure as shit I snapped myself. I have a tiny little blood blister on my one finger tip. Those fuckers hurt!!!

So now, we wait.

Ants In My Pants...

I have 20 minutes left of work and I am no going to lie to you. I cannot wait to get the f(&^ outta here. My co-workers are being stupid, so I am pretty much ignoring them. I am currently entertaining myself by dancing at my desk. The radio is playing Citizen King's Better Days. It's got me feeling funky.

And in case you were wondering, 3 days to the new Goo album.

Movie Mumblings...

Hostel - I am still trying to figure out if there was a point. But a fantastic display of blood splatterings. Maybe the plot will become evident in the sequel.

Angry Girl...

I have had some dealings with Amy's former roommate tonight.

Bitch.

How anyone can use the words whore and fag and still feel good about themselves at the end of the night is beyond me. How people can be so bitter that they must try and bring others down to feel good about themselves is something I will never understand. How I haven't administer this girl the beating of a life time, should be amazing.

I have not ever been as mad as I am right now. I can sincerely say, I want to end her life.

A Post...

...because Danny wants one.

I don't really have a lot to say today. I am kinda bumming out. Everybody gets those days. I think I am doing an ok job of faking it. And I know work isn't helping.

Nothing's really wrong, but something sure isn't right.

Simply Because I Can...

I mean, come on. Jimmy Fallon. How adorable is he?!?!

He makes me laugh so that ups his cuteness level.

Sad Times...

Even here, everyone is packing.

*Ring ring*

Flip open cell phone. Shut off "alarm". Close cell phone.

Two seconds later

*Ring ring*

"Hello."

"Did I wake you?"

"Nope, my alarm just went off. What are you doing up, it's like 3.30 in the morning there?"

"June, it's like 10:30 at night here. It's only 12.30"

After implying (or coming right out and saying it) that he wass playing a mean trick, I got up and check the time. It in fact was 12.30 in the morning.

I need to change my ringtone to something other then my alarm tone, because I sincerely believed in was time to get up.

And this is what I get for going to bed at 8.30.

Sad Little Life...

8.34 and I am going to bed.

Good night world.

Idol Thoughts...

Rod Stewart is on right now. I don't like the man, but he is singing "The Way You Look Tonight", and I l-o-v-e-s that song. It melts my callused little heart into a pile of goo.

And I almost died. Hottie Mc Chris was in the bottom 2. It's because I didn't vote. I missed 2 weeks in a row. I have only myself to blame.

Movie Mumblings...

25th Hour - Cool as hell. I just dug it. But it might have something to do with the main actor.

Ed Norton rocks my socks!!! I'd like to add him to my 'menu'.

Better Then Cabaret...

So last night, at Miles' request, I am chilling out at Joe and DB's

DB: (walks over to Joe) You know what I want?

Joe: Tell me what you what.

Me: (bursts into song) whatcha really really want.

DB: If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends.

I think this may be the one and only time we have burst out into Spice Girls.

Review Day...

Generally a scary day. Not so much today. In all nine categories, I scored 3 out of 4. She did not have one negative point to say. She told me that she vaules my hard work and needs more dependable people like me in this office who can lead the others.

I am still in shock.

But, for fuck's sake, it's about time.

Blogger Birthday...

Happy Birthday to Kittenspawn.

She's a Myspacer that occassionally crosses over into the Blogger World.

Princess Kiki and I were the number 1 and 2 in sales for the company in the 1st quarter.

Content Warning...

Today's photo post contains a slightly political photo.

It is not meant to offend anyone's views or beliefs.

Tasty Man Treat...

Meet Bradley Cooper.

Chatter...

Princess Kiki walks up to me sporting pigtailed braids. "Do I look like an Indian Princess?"

Saltine: "Yea, we are going to start calling you Pochahonkee"

A good day for funny in the office.

Quote Of The Day...

Dido's White Flag playing in the background.

"If this ship goes down, I am deserting it like the rat that I am."

Movie Mumblings...

Waiting... - I thought it was funny as hell. But I can also see how it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. A day in the life wait staff at your favorite restaurant. At first, I thought it was really stupid but then the more I watched, the more I could relate to them. This is going to be a cult classic along the lines of Office Space.

Indian Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark - How did I make it to adulthood without seeing this movie?? It was good.

Employee of the Month - Sarcastic and strange. But I did relate to the bank teller gone crazy thing.

Good Night and Good Luck - It was alright. I don't get the hype thou. It was solidly alright.

Failure to Launch - Humna Humna Humna. Matthew McConaughey is a tasty man treat. And I tell you what, Bradley Cooper ain't bad looking either. And they spent a large portion of the movie wet. MMMmmm. And you know, I didn't completely hate Sarah Jessica Parker either.

A Case Of The Mondays...

I am going to need at least 37 pieces of flair to make it through today.

I'm cranky.

An Underachiever...

Yup. That's me. Underachiever.

My step-sister has been accepted to Yale on rather remarkable terms actually.

I have a lot of vemon here, but wish her well.

What Dreams May Come...

Last night, I dreamt I took Glenn, the tree frog, for a walk.

What I can figure out is how I got the leash on him.

Isn't That Sad...

As I was at the laundrymat today, I was suprised to see how busy it was, being a holiday and all.

I thought to myself "Wow, how sad that all of these people have no where better to be then the laundrymat on Easter Sunday."

Then it occurred to me.

I was at the laundrymat on Easter Sunday.

Happy Easter...

If you are a religious person, I hope the holiday renews your faith.

If you are like the rest of us, I hope the time with you family doesn't kill you. And you don't get heartburn.

Giving Pre-Schoolers Everywhere Hope...

I just met a woman who went to Vegas and competed in a national ... Rock, Paper, Scissors competition.

What? Why? Huh?

A Hungry Girl...

I can't decide which two boys would make a better sandwich...
John, Johnny or Rob. Too much of a good thing, is a good thing in this case.

You Can Find Me In The Lab...

Let me start out by saying this (Labbie, I'm sorry)...I hate James Blunt's You're Beautiful. I used to like this song. Alot. And then radio started playing it an average of 9 times during my 8 hour shift. EVERYDAY. Now this song is the bane of my being.

Well, Kiki and I noticed that anytime we hear Mr Blunt, it is almost always followed by Daniel Powter's Bad Day (Sorry MrsGiggles, I love this song).

So today, I am going to chart the frequency that I hear these two songs and how close they are two each other.

Aren't you moist with interest in this?

Don't Eat Me...

When Xan left for California in January, I became the care giver to Glen the tree frog.

Aren't they cute?

Well, this morning when I went to feed Glen, he tried to swallow my entire hand. He only got the tip of my finger in his tiny little mouth, but I still thought it was funny as hell. It reminded me of one of those chinese finger trap toys.

When The Cat's Away...

...traditionally, the mice play.

However, since the people I would cause trouble with (in the blogging world exclusively, of course. I would never causes trouble in real life ;-) ), are all gone.

Kiki is off seeing Dane Cook live in Chicago.
MrsGiggles is enroute to Wisconsin for more job/house hunting adventures.
Joe and DB are enjoying the holiday weekend.

The cheese stands alone. I don't have anyone to email at work all day, I don't have anyone to hang out with on lunch (I have lunch at Joe's office every Friday), I don't have anyone to talk to when my co-workers piss me off (which happens almost constantly).

So because I am bored and lonely, don't be surprised if you see alot of posts from me.

Music Musings...

This week's free download from iTunes was...

Hide Away - Rock Kills Kid

I like it. All though, I will say it's kinda riding on the new wave sound that so many bands are digging right now. The best thing about the 80's was the music, so let em do their thing.

Thursday, April 13, 2006

Welcome Them...

Welcome Callie and Frankie to our little family.

You can visit them as link on my sidebar.

Music Musings...

The Dixie Chicks have a new single, "Not Ready To Make Nice."

It's certainly worth checking out. The string arrangment is pretty swell. I am excited for their new album. I can't wait to hear what seething political messge is contained therein.

I Am Gooey...

With Goo Goo Dolls excitement that is.

My favorite band in THE WORLD is going to be in Green Bay in July!

I am going. And I am dragging Kiki with me. No matter what my poopy headed supervisor says to keep me away.

I haven't seen them since like 2000. I am pumped.

And their new album comes out in like 10 days!!!

Could I be any goo-ier?

Useless Trivia...

There really is a Chandler, AZ.

Musical Musings...

Are you looking for new music?

Look no further then your tv.

Are you an indie rocker looking for a little mainstream cred?

Write a catchy song that can be used as a jingle. If you are in need of inspiration, look to the following:

The Pepsi commerical featuring Jimmy Fallon and Parker Posey: Streamline by Newton
The Honda commercial: Galang by M.I.A.
The Bud Select commercial: Galvanize by The Chemical Brothers
The Saturn commercial: Unconditional by The Bravery
The Motorola SILVR commerical: Bom Bom Bom by Living Things

These are just the songs that caught my ear. The Chemical Brothers have been around for awhile but can credit this commerical to the sucess of their recent album Push the Button. Living Things and M.I.A quite sometime ago had been featured as iTunes free download of the week. I love that they are getting some attention now.

Speaking of that free download of the week, a lot of songs make it big after being featured there. Think about it, almost every computer purchased these days comes with iTunes built right in to the standard program package. It's making WinAmp obsolete. It's so much cooler and a piece of cake to look for and sample new tunes. Even if you don't purchase from them, they allow you to hear samples of the songs letting you in on the best part. iTunes has jsut become such a crucial part of my life. I use it daily on my home PC.

I am going to try and remember to let you know every week what the featured free download of the week would be. And give you an opinon as to whether or not it's worth seeking out for yourself. But we all know, that means I will forget after a few weeks or get bored with it...like my pick-up line feature.

A Mad, Mad World...

My house has been all aflutter with talks of babies and weddings. A guy I went to high school with recently wed his mail order bride. And then to top it off, I went over to my mom's tonight and my little brother's girlfriend was reading a bridal magazine. And there was talks over dinner of them having children.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?!? EVERYTHING IS ALL SIDEWAYS.

And to top it all off, my mom didn't react well at the thought of my father being at Joe's wedding. She didn't freak out or anything, but it certainly caught her off guard. You can tell it was the first time the thought crossed her mind.

Well, news flash!!!

I haven't seen my father in nearly 20 years. When the time comes that he is standing in front of me, I am not going to recognize the man. He won't know me, the person I have become, the experiences he missed out on. I wonder what will go through my mind at that point in time. What emotions will I feel? Will I be able to be as cold to him as he has been to me? Will I be able to tell him exactly what I think of a man who could have nothing to do with his children for 20 years? Will I even care?

So yup. Whole world. Upside down tonight.

The Story Continues...

Sometime ago, Joe posted about his favorite person in the world. Tom Fucking Green.

Well, as the story unfolds, this man or one of his sisters/wives lives directly across the street from the bank.

They prove constantly to be a huge annoyance to us.

Kiki pointed out that yesterday they were having John Deere tractor rides...around the yard. And to redneck it up a bit, behind the cart containing the children, was a child being pulled on his bike.

These kids are demons. They do not understand that riding your back in the drive-thru during business hours is a safety issue for us. So frequently, we have to shuffle outside and shoo them back to their side of the street.

Every spring we also have to squash these children from requesting a constant stream of lollipops. They don't seem to understand that they don't get them just because they live across the street. So we will daily, tell them no and send them on their way. Which just seems to encourage them to ride their bikes through the drive-thru.

The entertainment value of having this family across the street is not near worth the hassel of actually dealing with them.

Unexpected Guidance...

This morning, when I entered the vault to begin to imaging work for the day, I found the following fortune cookie wisdom left on the keyboard. Clearly, since I am the only one working this area, it was a message meant for me.

Be willing to give the extra effort that separates the winner from second place.

Sometimes the things you need to hear, are right in front of you.

Celeb Baby News...

Gwen Platrow has delivered her second child. A boy named Moses?

What is she thinking?

I Am Surrounded By Morons...

I am not sure how the conversation came up, but someone mentioned Hilary Clinton. All I heard was this...

"If she can't keep track of her husband, how can she be expected to keep track of this country."

I am still looking for all the pieces of my head, after it exloded.

A Sign...

...that I have lived in a small town far too long...

I just saw a VW Beetle with a cow print paint job and thought nothing of it.

Silly Searches...

For those of you who end up here as a result of your search for ... "skunking" , yea, umm.

There are alot of you...and I can tell you right now, that there won't be anyone if that going on here. Unless Danny's about. He is kinda dirty that way.

Huh...

Well, isn't that a pisser.

I was going to blog something...and I forgot.

Shows how interesting my life isn't somedays.

Point to note thou...

When you are just listening to the X-Men cartoons that one of your roommates is watching...kinda sounds like bad porn sometimes.

There's A Party Over Here, There's A Party Over There...

I went to 3 parties this weekend.

Miles' had his 6th birthday party at the local movie theatre. It was a blast. I was scared for all the little kids but a good times was had by all. And Ice Age 2 was cute as hell.

I swung by Miss Hector's Tea Party. It was pretty great. I tried caviar for the 1st time. It wasn't good or bad. I think I am looking forward to the next time I can try it.

Then it was back to Joe and DB's for a little bonding, pizza and the worst movie EVER. House of the Dead 2 was terrible. End of story.

I came home and was entertained by my favorite MN boy (haven't heard from him in awhile) until 3 a.m. on the phone. He was quite funny. It's the first time I have really talked to him since he pulled ...a stunt... this summer. It was fun, but I am not putting too much thought into it.

Today, I went to Annie's sister's confirmation party. It was fun. Free food. Played Xbox 360 for the 1st time. It was pretty damn cool.

The night ended with root beer floats after we all pitched in and cleaned the house.

Good weekend.

We're Gonna Party Like It's...

Miles' 6TH birthday!

WAHOO!!! We are going to rock it...Ice Age style today with his kindergarten class. I'm a little scared.

I am mostly looking forward to Princess Kiki and DB's 'Sid the Sloth' voices. They make me giggle.

No Lie...

I am having to work way too hard today.

I might even be earning the wage they pay me today. But most likely not.

Thursday, April 06, 2006

Striking Back...

Well, my body is pissed at me. I am not hungover, but something is not right in funkytown. I am sure it's a combination of the fact that I drank last night and I didn't eat dinner (I made dinner but I forgot about it, due to the drink in my hand) and I didn't have time for breakfast this morning. So I am sure now that I have eaten something, my body is trying to adjust to food going in and alcohol working it's way out.

But it sucks.

Get On The Floor, NOW...

Robbery training was more fun then I thought it would be. It was an interesting class.

Now, does anyone know where there is a convience store I can knock over?

Note The Time...

It's a little early to be posting drunk, don't ya think June? Evidently not.

I have been drunk twice in the last week. Sad, considering, I haven't been drunk twice in the last two months.

Drunk posts are supposed to be funny. I got nothing.

Idol Thoughts...

That's all you need to know about Idol last night.

Cowboys Cont...

New Rascall Flatts CD today.

What to buy first?!?!

Big Gay Cowboy Holiday...

Brokeback comes out today!!!!!

I Spoke Too Soon...

I am having to leave work early to meet Sam at her bus stop so Shawn can head up to Minocqua this afternoon to be checked by better doctors.

One Wild Night...

Last night was really something. My mother can't ever claim I am not reliable. Because was something came up where my family needed me, I indeed, dropped everything and was there. Ask Patrick. Dropped everything.

Shawn (foster sister, for lack of a better explaination) got quite sick a week ago. They wanted to hospitalize her. She insisted on going home. She has been hiding the fact that she hasn't been getting better, only worse. Well, it all came out last night. I went over, grabbed her kids and a few changes of clothes for Sam. Because Shawn was so sick, she was having trouble dealing with a 7 year old girl who didn't understand why Mom was so cranky. The plan was for her to stay with me until Friday. So my Mom grabbed her and was off the the emergency room.

Turns out the Shawn wass only suffering from a massive allergic reaction to the anitbiotics. One little pill later, she was 100% better.

Sam still spent the night here, but Nikki went home. I still have the joy of the bus stop yet this morning. But shickingly, the morning is going really smooth.

I slept for absolute crap, but I guess I will just go to bed early tonight. I do not know however, if Sam is spending the night again yet.

And I have entered defcon 4, I am out of Burt's Bee's.

Now Appearing...

The Dumbest Person in the Bank!!

The Grinch is a stupid c#$%!!!!

More on that to follow later.

Movie Mumblings...

A History of Violence: I dug it. It was bloody, raw, honest, and to the point. I dug it. I felt like it was missing something, though. It might be enough for me to seek out the graphic novel just to see what didn't make the movie.

I Am Really Bored...

So I am making brownies.

And...I just got off the phone with MrsGiggles and all the talk of interviews and house hunting makes me so excited that they are moving back. My cutting the conversation really short because of my throbbing bladder probably didn't convey that well enough, but I am.

I cannot wait!!!

Yup, They Do...

Some boys suck.

But odds are it's not you. (that's if you are of the male persuasion and reading this)

There are all these songs about Stupid Girls...Pink, Cold, Garbage....Where are the Stupid Boy songs?

Let's write one..

Spring Ahead...

Did you remember to set your clocks ahead?

I am excited....because for the next six or seven months (is it true they moved the fall daylight savings to November?) the clock in my car will read the right time! Rock on!! Only one clock in my house really needed to be changed this morning. And that was on the stove. My cellphone and computer took care of themselves. And well, the clock on the wall, it hasn't kept time for a week. Perhaps I should buy a battery today.

I don't believe we actually lose an hour of sleep. The majority of people don't work Sundays, and we are going to sleep as long as we want anyway. So to those that bitch...nah nah nah.

The only scene I actually watched in Rush Hour 2 last night was the scene with Jeremy Piven. And then I promptly fell asleep.

Of Course, I Am Still Awake...

I got home from work at 12.30. Talked to Xan until 1. Fell asleep until 6.

So yea, of course I am still going to be awake now.

And while I was sitting here, it occured to me that Kiki and I were supposed to go see Cherry Monroe tonight, but she couldn't get the night off. DAMN!

I think I am going to lay in bed and watch Rush Hour 2. It makes me giggle and I am convinced that Jeremy Piven is the key to finding John Cusack. And since I think this is the only movie I have with Jeremy Piven....It wins.

Remind me to tell you Saltine and I's grand documentary idea tomorrow, wouldja?

Recommendations...

What songs shoud I download?

Innocence Lost...

I just looked up 'skunking'.

I am never going to be the same.

Just To Warn You...

I kinda plan on posting alot this weekend.

I know, lucky you.

What To Do...

Graham offered to sell me his RAZR cellphone in July when he plans on getting a SILVR.

There's nothing wrong with my cell phone...except it's not as cool as a RAZR. What should I do?

Payments Made...

Joe got his tacos last night.

I got my Skippyjonjones book.

Melting Down Impersonations...
