Continued Fuckage...

My car is done and costing $200 for the teeniest part ever.

The Hits Keep Coming...

I was suspended from the bank today for 3 days. I overslept.

Sweet.

And as if I needed something else...I just dropped my car off at the shop. The motor for the wipers decided to fuck off today.

Too Cool For School...

It's the semester end crunch. I took the week off from the store to attempt to get caught up with things. Here it goes, you know.

Oh yea. And I signed a transfer contract to UW-Madison this week. That's a Big 10 school baby!

Go me!

Now That's Cool...

I picked up my dress for the wedding and it's too big. I have never had that happen before.

An amazing feeling.

Now Accepting Applications...

For poor saps willing to proof read the very dry material that is my research paper on the topic of Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Any takers?

You Can Get Anything At Wal-Mart...

Geology Rocks

I'm A Bad Person...

I called into Wal-Mart today. I'm not sick.

Last night, I began to ponder all of the end of the semester stuff I had to complete and looked at the amount of time I didn't have to do it in. As much as it sucks for the front end supervisors, I made the call to stay home today. This is more important to me.

I'm going to hell. I don't think I feel bad about skipping out on them. Would you? What would you do in this situation?

**Obviously, I do feel a little bad about this...or I wouldn't have posed the question to you**

A Big Star...

LOL, right.

I won second place in the bowling alley karaoke contest last night. I am just a few weeks away from being...oh wait. Still no one. LOL, it was fun. I had no idea I had to do it again though. But apparently I have to sing in the finals.

No Longer A Zombie Girl...

I am alive and well after the bird flu completely beat my face in yesterday.

17 hours of sleep later, I feel....ok!

I do not feel good.

Stand Still, Look Pretty...

Bought The Wreckers, "Stand Still, Look Pretty". I relate to the title track so I thought I'd post it for you. Overall, good album Can't wait to see them live this summer.

I wanna paint my face
and pretend that I am someone else

Sometimes I get so fed up,
I don't even wanna look at myself

But people have problems that are worse than mine
I don't want you to think
I'm complaining all the time

And I hate the way you look at me I have to say
I wish I could start over

I am slowly falling apart
I wish you'd take a walk
in my shoes for a start

And you might think it's easy being me
You just stand still look pretty

Sometimes I find myself shaking
in the middle of the night

And then it hits me and
I can't even believe this is my life

But people have problems that are worse than mine
I don't want you to think
I'm complaining all the time

And I wish that everyone
would go and shut their mouth

I'm not strong enough to deal with it.

Adventures In Bartending...

So last night was my first real night behind the bar. I am not going to lie to you. I was terrified. This bar has live music on the weekends and is a very busy bar on a band night. Who starts on the busiest night of the week?!

It turned out to be really dead, which was a blessing in disguise. I had a chance to get a feel for things before it got assloads busy. I ended up being done by 11.30 under the understanding that I would come help Leno close. Leno is the only other bartender, outside the owner.

The owner, Johnny, kind of anal about his bar. He was the reason I was so concerned about working. Well, I had nothing to worry about. I jumped back behind the bar again at bar close. Johnny had been there all night and was watching me pretty close. As the night went on, he started to get a little drunk. Meaning, alot drunk. Well, Leno and I started dancing around and making asses of ourselves behind the bar, assing around to the jukebox, dancing and just being silly.

Turns out, Johnny loved it. I heard him talking to these women about how he loved how I got Leno to open up a little bit.

End result, I worked about 4 hours and made about $20 in tips. That part sucked. However, the time behind the bar and the fun I had, was so worth it. I had a lot of fun.

Bu I am exhausted today.

**I promised someone that I met at the bar that I would title this post "I Met A Man With Four Nipples Last Night", but I really want to keep my Adventures as a running post title.**

Out You Demons Of Insanity...

I was thinking about stuff today when I should have been working.

I think the reason I have taken this 3rd job is that I will be so busy this summer, I simply will not have time for the drama the seemed to be the dark cloud hanging over me last summer. I will in fact, not even know it's summertime.
A started the 3rd job last night. I am feeling a little nervous about it. But, I figure if I am in the bar, I might as well be making money instead of spending it.

And I'll figure out how to get good at pour a tapper in time.

Silly Little Princess...

Yes, that's right. I'm a princess. And a silly one at that.

I start my 3rd job tonight. Despite the fact that my mother doesn't think I can tend bar, I am going to try it anyway.

Musical Marriage...

Has anyone else noticed that Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake are in the oddest marriage ever?! The three of them are like standards on each others track right now.

I just find it odd. Wise. But odd nonetheless.

Now, If Those 44,000 People Would Just Bugger Off...

My love for the Cubs has been brought back to life since I started hanging out with Melly and Bartender. This year I ever get to join them on their annual trip to Wriggley. I am pumped as hell.

Well, this has prompted us to get on the waiting list for season tickets. I am number 44,275. I cannot describe the awesomeness that moment was.

Pondering...

I am debating factoring in the cost of the London trip my school sponsors every year into my student loan for next year. I sort of want to go. That whole once in a lifetime thing.

Whatcha think?

My Kind Of Holiday...

Happy undead deity day.

She May Have Been On To Something...

My mom always said that the worst kind of deviant was a liar.

"You can protect yourself from a thief but you are defenseless against a liar."

I caught Bartender in a lie last night. It hurt pretty bad. He stepped up to the plate instantly and came over and explained himself. I do understand, but it is what it is. He lied to me. I don't love him any less, but trust is a funny thing. Once you break it...well you know.

...

I had a really nice time with my company this week. I can't believe the week went by so fast.

Movie Mumblings...

The Last Kiss - I love Zack Braff. Good movie.

Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants - Girly girl goodness.

The Farce of The Penguin - WHAT THE FUCK? Why can't I stop watching? And laughing!

Movie Mumblings...

Idiocracy - Funny shit. Both my roommate and I were entertained as hell by this.

The Wedding Date - I spent most of yesterday with Bartender's former sister in law, and she asked that we watch this. The movie gets cuter every time I see it.

Strange Then Fiction - Rock on. I was not sure what to think of Will Ferrel in this role, but OH MY! I loved this film.

Seeing Is Believing...

Ordinarily, I would be pretty sarcastic and cynical about this, but there was much appreciated cash on my check that I wasn't expecting.

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Wait, How Long Was I Gone...

I left for 3 days. Instead of missing out on the drama, it piled up at my front door. It was all still waiting for me when I got home. Only it seems worse, when I have 3 days to deal with instead of dealing with it as it comes along.

I guess, I have my work cut out for me.

*sigh* It never really ends as long as I live here, does it?

Skinnyfat...

I came across a blog written by one of my favorite pop band's leader singer. I just felt I had to repost it.

Skinnyfat

This is a scary thing to admit. It was hard to say out loud, but I imagine it will be even harder to see in print. However, in the spirit of honesty, I said I would keep you in the loop with me. And so I will.

You might think I'm being silly when I say this, but I'm telling you that I am dead serious.

I am addicted to food.

Sounds stupid, even impossible, but the truth of it is, food has been my drug of choice for the past few years. I will tell you some things about me right now that even my closest friends don't know.

Over the past 18 months, I have gained and lost the same twenty pounds at least four times. Some of you have seen me at my heaviest, few of you have seen me at my thinnest.

I have always thought of food as my friend. It was the one relationship in my life that didn't demand anything from me, that didn't criticize me, that never told me anything I didn't want hear. It was there in the morning, it was there late at night, it was just blessedly, endlessly there for me anytime I wanted to feel numb. I have gone out to dinner with people and ordered a salad-then gone home and eaten in secret until I was sick with the shame of what I was doing. I have hidden the evidence deep in the trash and in the back of the closet.

Don't be mistaken: I have NEVER EVER eaten and forced myself to throw up. I have, on occasion, eaten an extremely limited diet to get off the weight I put on, but ONLY under the supervision of a personal trainer and nutritionist.

I'm sure this sounds odd coming from me, as I have always championed being proud of who you are, no matter what you weigh or how you look. But then, we all have our demons-and I thought maybe sharing mine would help some of you with yours.

The past year has been a wonderful time for my career, and I accomplished many things that I had only ever dreamed about. But along with success come tremendous pressure-to keep it up, to take it to the next level, to control the things that, in reality, only fate can control. Who do you think has been my closest friend all this time? Food. And yet, it's my worst enemy. Food and I are like two boxers in a ring-at any given time, one of us might be in charge of the fight-but neither of us ever goes down for the count.

Here's the thing: I am sick of the back and forth, the brief moments of happiness and the long moments of guilt. Over the past few weeks, I have come to realize that food was not my friend. It was my master, controlling my moods, controlling my mind. No more.

The wonderful thing is, since I decided to take charge of my own life, I don't even want it anymore. I don't want the things that are bad for me. I don't want to feel bad when I wake up in the morning because I ate five cupcakes before I went to sleep. And somehow, it's working. I have lost eleven of the twenty five pounds I packed on since August.

I have no desire to be perfect. Beauty on the outside is pointless without beauty on the inside. And that's what I want. I want to eat for my health, not to keep my mind from racing. I want to eat things I like without the sudden intense desire to eat everything in sight. I want to take care of my body, to appreciate its strength. I want to take care of my mind, because I'm pretty sure I'm going to need it. :-)

I could have continued to keep my secrets, I could have disappeared from the world...out of sight, out of mind, as they say. I will do none of those things. I will fight this battle every day until I win. I will re-read this blog and re-live this moment of blissful clarity. I will think of you rooting for me every time I feel weak. But why the public confession of what seems like a very private issue?

Here's why. Because I owe every single one of you a heartfelt thank you. No matter how much my weight has fluctuated, no matter how much different I looked in person than in pictures, you never said a word about it. In fact, last May I got back some pictures from a photo shoot that had been drastically airbrushed without my knowledge. I was furious that anyone would use me to perpetuate the myth of the "perfect" celebrity. But more than that, I was terrified you would see me as a fraud. Sometimes when I felt really low, I would surf the net looking for all the nasty, hurtful things that I imagined people would say about me...I didn't want to do it, but I felt like I should punish myself-almost like picking a scab. My fear was that people would call me fat or ugly, yet I secretly wanted it to be confirmed.

But I never found it. And that's why I thank you.

Every musician should have fans like you, fans with the integrity to care about the music and the message more than the package it's presented in. You make me feel pretty and proud even when what's inside me is sometimes dark and ugly. You are the kind of people who are making it okay for lovely women like Jennifer Hudson and America Ferrerra to be considered "beautiful". And for that, you are beautiful.

So I don't know how long this blog will stay up, if management will make me take it down....but if you see it, then you share my secret and you know that I am trying really hard to get healthy and stay that way...and you know that I appreciate your sweet words and your support, and your awareness of who I am. I am just a person, and I mess up sometimes. But I write songs about it, and you listen to them :-). Thanks, as always, for that.

What I Am Not Working On...

I still not working on that term paper. It's supposed to be a comparison of Carl Cohen's "Do Animals Have Rights?" and Tom Regan's "The Case For Animal Rights". We are also to look at how the animal rights debate applies to the human rights movement and then look at how Indirect duties, Utilitarianism, and Contractarianism factor into the issue.

I think I would rather go get ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery and watch The Departed.

**Update** I found this article interesting as I was working on my paper on Animal Rights. We just covered Zoos and the arguments for and against them in the last few weeks. 3.34 pm

That's Not Why I Am Here...

So I left town to get some homework done in peace. As expected, no such thing has really happened. MrGiggles took me shopping today. He did this under the premise that I needed clothes that fit. Good point, but what he doesn't understand is I have NO money to my name right now. Not a single cent really.

Well, I broke out the credit card. At a local big box retailer, I took home $129.94 of new clothes home for $21.52.

Alright, I couldn't pass that up really.

Today marks my first day of vacation, so Kiki and I went on a dress shopping mission today. I went to find a dress appropriate for an standing next to the Bunny in her upcoming wedding to my brother, the Fish. Well, that all went well...But here's the bread and butter of the day.

And um...we shopped for some other stuff...but HELLO! I was able to buy shirts a size or two smaller then the last time I shopped!

Yay me!

Rocking The Cat Box...

I refuse to believe that it's casbah.

I rocked the shit out the multiple choice portion of my Ethics exam. I needed a 32 which is an 80%. I got a perfect score.

Yay me!

Bracketology 101...

Apparently this is an actual term sports geeks use in March. Huh.

The boys have been pushing me to fill in some brackets. Um no.

But I did make my Final 4 predictions.

UCLA
North Carolina
Texas A&M

I am going with the Tarheels as this year's champ.

But then again, I am a girl. But a girl that was right on about the Super Bowl from Week 2 on...

Fuck is when you spill Diet Coke all over your fucking term paper.

Sadness Washes Over Me...

Kiki gave her two week notice at the bank today.

I am going to miss her stupid face. Just who does she think is going to take care of her now?

Just another reason to hate my job.

Is this week over yet?

Oh wait, it's only Tuesday.

Happy Happy...

Birthday, Bunny!

Just CLASSic...

Not had the best morning at class.

Psychology partner showed up fucking wasted. I mean, RETARDED! I was a little pissed off by this.

The crazy Spaniard Ethics teacher is on my list right now too. My presentation that I busted my ass working on, read that 300 page book, he wanted. WAS WORTH NO POINTS WHAT SO EVER. That's not even fair. I am not going to lie, had he disclosed this up front, I would not have worried about it so much. Grr.

Wednesday, March 07, 2007

That's A Kick In The Head...

If I had known the crazy Spaniard wasn't going to post the test today, I wouldn't have spent the last 2 hours reading this essay.

GRRR!

He's Captain Fucking America, Man...

You can't just kill him off, it's just not right!

When Did Pizza Get So Good...

I haven't had pizza in a long time. This frozen cheese pizza is pretty tasty.

I could eat this whole damn thing if I don't walk away right now.

When did pizza start tasting so yummy?

Therapy At $32.95 a month...

I had an frustrating day. Nothing in particular. Just a million things destined to piss me off.

Well, I worked out until I forgot what I was mad about.

Now, the only things I feel are tired and hungry.

100 Things About Me...

Sometime ago, I blogged one of these lists. I was thinking the other day that I wanted to revise it some. I have not the urge to look through old posts to find mine, so I started over. When I have nothing to blog about, I am going to whip out 10 things. Some I will explain, some might not need any explanation. So, here goes installment 1.

1. I love Hello Kitty.
Perhaps I like Hello Kitty a little too much for a grown-up. You will find random little trinkets and reminders all over my apartment to this affect. Some, I have sought out. Some, I have paid too much for. Some, have been gifted to me. It makes no sense, and it's an addiction born out of nothing, but I love it just the same.

2. I have a purse addiction.
I own somewhere in the neighborhood of 90 purses. I don't know when this compulsion started, but I couldn't stop for the longest time. Now, I crave higher quality, so at the very least it has slowed down. As an example, the girls at Wilson's Leather (60 miles away), know me by first name.

3. I love The Goo Goo Dolls.
I am also not sure when this addiction was born. I would imagine 1998. The movie "City of Angels" was released. With it came the soundtrack, bearing the song "Iris". It became THE song of that year. Since the release of that album, I have seen this band live 8 times. Dizzy Up The Girl still remains one of my all time favorite albums. I am trying to position myself to be the mother of John Rzeznik's children.

4. I cannot not stand an open mailbox.
My apartment resides next to Bartender's. Our mailboxes are also neighbors. Some people would be annoyed by the fact that, Bartender will deposit his unwanted junk mail in our box. Not this girl. I get blindly annoyed by the open lids everyday. So everyday, I close the lids as I pass by. I have actually tried to ignore this and laid in my apartment on the couch and had this bother me enough, that I got off my ass, to close the lids. If there is no mail in the box, why leave it open? Yes, I know. I'm a freak. What of it?

5. I have a debilitating fear of storms.
Thunder storms. I can drive home in a complete white out at 2 in the morning, but one crack of thunder and I can't move. It's something that I can't explain, but they terrify me.

6. I'm fat.
This is what I attribute my really low self-esteem too. I am tragically insecure, and I think I do a good job at hiding it. But, I am working on it.

7. I have a plan to kidnap John Cusack.
And why wouldn't you? Look at the guy! He's freaking adorable. He is the 80's teen movie. He's witty, well spoken, intelligent, sarcastic, and cute. What more could I want? Well, a co-worker, who shares the same lust, and I have worked out a shenanigan filled plan to get to meet the man. Ok, so it's pretty common knowledge (among the celebrity informed, at least) that John's best friend is Jeremy Piven. They are also IL natives. They even co-own an apartment in Chicago. This is were the plan comes in. Saltine and I are going to wander around Chicago, using the 6 degrees of separation concept, to track down and accidently bump into Jeremy Piven. Once we track down Mr. Piven, we will lure him into our totally bitchin' van, and kidnap him. We fully intend to hold him hostage until we hear from John, inquiring as to our demands. We think he'll be down for the fact that we really just want to go to dinner with him. I think once they hear about the pureness of our love and admiration, they more then likely won't press charges, right?

8. The toilet paper must roll forward.
I don't know why, but it has to. I have caught myself changing the rolls at work even.

9. I don't like Metallica.
I never have. I tried. It's Metallica. They are rock gods, they must be good, right? Uh, no. They don't really speak to me.

10. My attempt at a higher education terrifies me.
The act of going to school everyday scares me. What if I let someone down? What if I let myself down? Maybe I am not as smart as I think. Maybe I really can't juggle 2 jobs and school. Maybe I will fall flat on my face. Maybe I will succeed. My fear of the unknown that lies in the answers sometimes, gets the better of me.

So, there it is. Maybe you knew that, maybe you didn't.

More To Come...

I can't wait to talk about my Ethics class. Today was interesting. I just have to wait to talk about this until after work. And the gym (which DB, I didn't go last night.)

When Did Axle Rose Start Classes Here...

I think I need to start blogging more about my classes. Not so much the classes themselves, but the people I observe in my classes.

My first class of the morning is always "General Psychology". The instructor that began the class, has apparently contracted the bird flu, or the HIV, or the herp, or some equally "ewww" disease; that has caused him to miss the last 4 weeks of class. Well, we were finally given a new instructor today. He is very unremarkable, but not the point.

We have this girl in class, who on day one, presented herself as the "overachiever". Over dressed, a little too formal for a morning class. She even went so far as to attach herself to the lone Indian student (who we just assume is the smart girl, based solely on our racial biases. I know. I judge books by their cover. Sue me. At least I am not in denial about it).

Anyway, so..."girl" today, morphed herself into Axle Rose. She had the most horrid tiny little braids over her entire head. They looked dirty, greasy and appeared to have been done by a 6th grader. These braids were "controlled", so to speak by a ratty blue do-rag. To add to this, she was wearing a hoodie that didn't quite fit her which appeared to have been purchased at Hot Topic. This didn't exactly compliment her low rise jeans that revealed her "jelly roll".

Well, evidently, the look on my face was priceless when she walked into class, because Binks, the girl I know socially through Melly, about spit her coffee across the desk at me. My "wtf" was clearly displayed for the class to see. My only comment was,

"When did Axle Rose enroll?"

I'm going to hell.

Now, That's Awesome...

This girl in my Environmental Ethics class just told my instructor (the crazy Spaniard)...

"I drive a Honda, I have done my part for the environment."

I think we actually witnessed his head exploded.

Now That's Just Disturbing...

I am slightly bothered by the induction on Van Halen into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Why does this bother me so much? 80's iconic hair band. Should be ok with me. Instead, this thought make me wanna kill babies.

Goo-ey Goodness...

Despite all the mishaps (which should be expected any time I try and do ANYTHING), We all had a really nice time. And oh dear god, is that a bad picture of us.

Fuck....

Today, the word Mid-term hit me like a brick wall.

Oy. It's 10 days away. Great.

Lazy Days...

It's a day off. I don't have to be anywhere. I am spending it alone, on my couch, with movies. It's perfect.

The Constant Gardener: Was good. I don't have alot to say about it. It didn't speak to me. But it was a well written movie.

A Scanner Darkly: FUCKED UP! And I can't stop watching.

Teehee...

Shenanigans with Kiki and Bartender are fun.

And no. We aren't drinking.

But tomorrow I am going to see the Goo Goo Dolls!!!

YEAH BABY!

Fat Tuesday, My Ass...

I have been going to the gym for about 4 weeks now. It may not seem like much to you, but in that 4 weeks I have managed to shave 3 minutes off my One Mile time on the elliptical trainer.

I am pleased as can be right now.

Food For Thought...

I don't know if this is going to work.

Here is the video we watched in Environmental Ethics today. It's tragic and graphic, but it makes you think.

Who Are They...

They say that failure is not an option.

See, now I think they lie. I think it's a very real option. A likely option, in fact.

And who are "they"? What the hell do they know?

Cupid's Arrow...

For the first time in my life, I had a very nice Valentines Day. Bartender saw to it. I got flowers (red roses) for the first time in my life. I went to dinner on Valentines for the first time ever.

April and I met up at the NWL and Melly, Kiki, and Kate joined us for a few single girl rantings over cocktails.

I felt really loved last night!

The Proof Is In The Pictures...

I am finally ready to admit that I see a difference in my weight, in pictures. Ladies and gentleman, since the begining of summer I have lost 35 pounds. That's some weight off. I finally see the evidence.

It's only the begining.

Here's March 2006

Here's July 2006
If I can see the differences there...I can't wait to post what I look like now...

Now That's Cool...

I am pretty pumped that The Dixie Chicks won most the major awards on last night's Grammy show.

I always think it's exciting when artists get the credit they deserve for putting out a critically acclaimed album. I personally didn't care for the album, but dug "Not Ready to Make Nice." I am always happy to see country artists get some cred because there is some good stuff out there. Some crap, but some good stuff.

So, good on them. A little bad press worked out in the end for them.

Strange Things...

It's so odd getting text messages from my mother. Today she is currently trying to entice me to come to her house and consume coffee cake.

This the day after she commented on how it loks like I am losing weight. I think her subconscious wants me to give up. That way she feels better about her lack of diet success.

Last week, there was no change in numbers on the scale. I am so ok with that. I ate kind of bad last week, so the gym saved me!

This week will be a new story for me.

Bitter, Cynical, Rant Alert...

I freaking hate Valentine's Day, says the terminally single girl.

I am going to die alone.

*sigh*

The Marvels Of Non-Western Religion...

Turns out I totally get the non-western religions (Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.). I am rocking the hell out of these test lately. It's actually very lucky for me. I need some good scores. I have to get some solid grades this semester to pull my GPA above 2.0 so maybe the good old government will start throwing some cash my way.

I finally got around to picking my research topic for Psychology, and not a moment too soon. The title page and references are due on Thursday. So, before to long here, I am going to be a wealth of knowledge about Seasonal Affective Disorder. I am really excited about that actually, I think t effects alot of people in the area. And I am pretty nervous about writing a paper. It's been MANY years since I have had to write anything. So next week I am off to the libraries of the area to obtain materials for this mystical paper.

I still have not obtained a copy of the book that I am supposed to present for Ethics class on the 22nd. I should probably get on that here quickly.

I am not going to lie, school has me feeling a little bogged down right now. I knew this was going to happen, and now it's all about how I handle the situation. I think some of my "friends" are getting sick of me telling them no. I keeping putting off stuff with them to work on my homework and such. I would think they understand how important this is, but I sense some frustration and that makes me a little sad actually. I hate upsetting people. But that is just the nature of life I imagine.

Back to work my friends, Happy Weekend.

Essay, My Ass...

I am to read and present the essay "Desert Solitaire" by Edward Abbey in 2 weeks in Ethics. I figured I had better get cracking on this.

I goggled it tonight. Turns out it's like a 300 page book.

Essay, my ass!

Not Fucking Fair...

Every school in like a 200 mile radius is closed. Why do I have to go to class? If we were starting to watch "The Inconvenient Truth" today in Ethics, I totally wouldn't go. This -35 shit sucks.

SO...last night, I totally rocked my test, despite all the distractions. I was all excited when I went next door to tell Bartender. I totally get the Hindu people. Well, Bartender insisted on making me a drink as a congratulations. I let him. I stood there and silent observed the drunken shenanigans of 30 HIGH SCHOOL aged kids, and didn't regret my choice to stay home and work on my class work.

Autobiographical...

A sign of changes appeared to me moments ago.

There is a party going on over at the boy's apartment. It's constantly spilling over here. I am being asked to come over every 6 or 7 minutes and I would rather sit here and work on my homework that's never going to get finished because I already made the poor time management choice of going to dinner with Bartender.

Am I getting old? Or just growing up?

Go, er um uh, Colts. I guess.

Better To Be Pissed Off Then Pissed On...

What about the option that involves no urine? Where's that option? That the one I want.

So last night, I am tucked safely away in bed snoozing my little heart out. I hear the neighbor let himself in. This is not uncommon, he's usually just looking to borrow something. I thought nothing of it. Until I heard his coat hit the floor, right outside my bedroom floor, shoes get kicked off and a very loud plop down on the couch. Suddenly, he's calling my name. OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Until I finally crawl out of bed to see a drunken Davey sprawled out on the couch. He wanted to talk about this douche bag that he has had this issue with now for a number of years.

Well, Davey tried to make peace last night. As we all know, that never works out well when you are drinking. So he came to me to pour his heart out, as the always do. Well, he promptly passed out...and I shuffled back to bed.

A short time later, I hear quite the commotion from the living room. I call out to make sure he's ok...but suddenly he's in my room. He thought he'd be more comfortable in bed with me. Alright I scoot over, slept with most my friends anyway...

He bumbles about the room, getting situated, knocking shit over, pissing on my floor, taking his pants off etc.

That's right boys and girls. He whipped it out and peed in the corner of my bedroom. Then hopped into bed and passed out again.

I got out of bed after a few minutes of shock and disgust and shuffled next door to sleep on their couch. I couldn't be in the same space with him, I was so furious at him.

Today my apartment has a closed sign on it, and will remain locked at all times for the remainder of the weekend. I don't think in a sober mind, Davey would do such a thing. But, I am still pissed and until I get an apology, none of them are coming in.

Payback's A Bitch, Baby...

I woke up this morning to find all of my fridge magnets lining the inside of my bat tunnel sky light. This means, that while I was sleeping, the boys let themselves in (not altogether uncommon or something that bothers me), and moved them all there.

Shenanigans are to be expected. But so is retalition. Send some ideas on practical jokes my way...

The Competition Is Steep...

In the great weight loss challenge, the end of week 2 has again crowned me the winner (haha, in your face, Melly), with Melly just a mere two pounds behind me. I have lost 6 pounds in the last two weeks. Might not seem like much to you, but it's the world to me.

In the end, we aren't counting total weight lost, because we are 4 girls with very different weights and metabolisms, but instead percentage of body weight lost. So, I might win a week or two along the way in poundage, but it's anybody's game really.

As of right now, I am the lightest I have been in a number of years. It feels good. We all have our own reasons for doing this, at the basis is health. We all want to be healthier then we are now. I am not going to lie to you, I want to be cute. Restore the hotness!

With that, I have some tuna to consume.

Movie Mumblings...

I watched a whole lot of crap this weekend.

Josie and the Pussycats (Melly's choice...NOT MINE), Stick It, American Dreamz, and Miami Vice.

It was all crap!

It's About Time...

I took the test for Tuesday's Ethics class today.

Praise be, I finally got my A that I so badly needed to fix my moral.

And when checking my grades from last week, the instructor changed my grade from last week. He gave me credit for 4 , instead of 3.

I needed this badly.

Feeling Defeated...

My test scores have me not wanting to go to class anymore.

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

Fuck That...

It was quiz time tonight.

I got another 3/5. I was fairly confident this time in that, I actually read the chapter. I am starting to wonder through my frustrations, if I simply do not test well.

This sucks. Out of a possible 10 points, I only have 6. This simply will not do.

A Mind Fuck...

All I have been thinking about is how good I have been doing this week, on the health front.

Now, I want an oreo. I hate those gross little cookies and all the black cookie crap in your teeth. I hate them so much, why do I want some?

A Reality Check...

Had my first quiz in Ethics last night. These are all done online.

Yea, I didn't pass. I got 3/5 points. That's a 60% No good. I like the instructor thou. He's crazy, but I like him. That's probably why I like him actually. He basically told me in class today (there's 8 in this class) that he intends to push me, because he thinks I have more to say then I offer up. I think I am going to like that. Today he tried to get a rise out of me and it almost worked. I feel like it's an amusing game to him to see how long I can hold out.

Oh Yea, I Geek Like That...

Oscar noms came out today. And in true fashion, the gauntlet has been thrown down.

I say this every year, but....this is my year!

New Beginnings...

2007 has been the start of a whole new Juicy.

I started out fresh in a new apartment. There is such a happy air here.

I went back to school. It's going to be tough, but I think I can handle it.

I have been taking this whole healthy way of life thing, rather seriously. I am working out 5 days a week for like 45 minutes. I am keeping a watchful eye on what I am eating. I would very much like to lose 25 pounds before Joe and Bunny get married at the end of May. My girls and I are allt aking this weight loss/exercise competion very seriously. I would like to be seriously smaller when Annie in 16 months, so this is a good way to get me into the habit of things.

I have a whole new attitude on things now. Like last night when I saw some friends of mine that I only see once a year, and someone complimented the weight I have lost. I graciously accepted it. Goddamnit, you should compliment me. I lost 25 pounds since I saw her last, I do look better and I worked hard for it.

I am really looking forward to what the rest of the year holds for me. This is my time, and there's no stopping me now.

And as a bonus, I get to order Goo Goo Dolls tickets tonight!

Not Sneaky Enough...

I have been dodging the Census lady for days. She caught me tonight.

These are retarded questions.

I Am Looking For A Dare To Be Great Situation...

I am finding myself having to respond to the same question over and over:

"Why do you suddenly want to go back to school?"

To which I can only respond, "Why Not?"

The way I look at it is this. I can keep doing what I am doing. Everyday for the rest of my life. Keep working my two jobs, living in medicore apartments, and just living the same life every day. Waiting for someone to die or retire, so I can get ahead at my job.

Or.

I can work to make something of myself and strike out of this life I have set for myself.

Everytime the question is posed, I always want to answer with, "I am looking for a dare to be great situation."

Next time, I think I will.

How About That...

Last night, I got bored at went to bed at 10. This morning. Despite that I am well rested, I feel a little left out. I always have this wierd concern that I am going to miss out on something by sleeping.

Last night, I did. Evidently, the entire building played a rousing game of beer pong. The only reason I knew anything had gone on is that when I woke up, there was money next to the beer jar. Not just the standard dollar or two...$26. I opened the fridge to find that most of the beer was gone. I had to smile. I really only knew it was a matter of time before that happened. So, I tromped next door to see if that's where it went, only to find my silly boys still awake.

Worked out last night like a good girl. And going again tonight. Today is actually kind of busy. I am going to have coffee with my sister-in-law right after work. Then, I have to go to the store and restock the beer. Then it's work-out time.

Who is running up and down the stairs at 7 am?

I am well rested today...but feeling cheated. Classes start tomorrow and I am scared. I have to leave for work in 3 minutes and I am sad. I wanted to have lunch with Bartender today, and he'll be in a coma. So. I guess that's one less thing I have to do today then.

The Greatest Game Ever Played...

Is evidently Ding-Dong-Ditch. Just ask us. We can prove it. However, the scampering of little feet down the hallway, does decrease it's effectiveness. It actually feels like I just live in one very oddly laid out house the way we all come and go between the two apartments sometimes.

Have to leave for my orientation at school in a few minutes. I am only staying long enough to get my planner and ID and I am outta there. Guess I am really doing this. Scary. Classes start Thursday. I still wonder if I can do this. Did I tell you I changed majors already? Nice, huh? Buh-bye Business Administration. Hello, Marketing.

Melly and I joined Anytime Fitness this morning. It's part of our competition with Kiki. I will own those two before I am done. More on this to come yet.

It's cold in here. All the time. Like Mason St. cold. Only a few of you will understand that...but that means really cold.

Well, I guess I should go. Gotta get out to school. Just thought I owed you an update.

Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda...

So many things I was to do today.

Join the new gym that happens to be a block away. But we all drank a little too much last night and no one besides myself felt like going.

Mail some stuff. Yup, got the internet and sat on my ass.

And soon, I am going to work. Blag!

December...

Closing out the year with my niece on Christmas.

November

Football Baby! I went to my 1st (and not last) Badger game.

October...

A girl sends herself to LA for her birthday and she's only supposed to pick one picture?!?! Ok. So this was in downtown LA. Hollywood, darling. Right outside the Chinese theatre. Don't ask me what it is...I don't know. I picked this because...damn, I look tan.

September...

September marked Kiki's 21st birthday. She was legally able to do what she had been doing every weekend for 5 years. Melly marked it by making her a rather large post bar drink, that may have kicked Kiki's ass.

August...

As summer started to draw itself to a close, so did the softball season. Bartender decided to mark the last game of the season by getting blindingly drunk and passing out in the bathtub.

Celebrate Your Independence...

Kiki and I threw together a float for work to be in the 4th of July parade. Here she is with my niece and nephew.

The Taco Nazi...

Why is it that everytime I go to Taco John's they are always out of Potatoe Ole's? Do they not know my heart yearns for them? I believe that they have a personal vendetta against me.

In other news, I am moving Friday into the new place. Should be a busy day for me seeing as how I have to do it all in one day. I have never had to do that before. I am not entirely sure if I will have any help, so that should make it interesting. My new roommate has actually been crashing on my couch the last few days because he forgot to let our current landlord know that there was a small gap in between housing. Oh well, we are going to be living together by the end of the week, what's a few day early.

Got a 5% raise at work today. Shocked me actually. They don't seem to like me most days.

Paid my tuition too. So now, I am really broke. I sometimes wonder if I don't have too much on my plate right now. Am I even capable of going back to school and doing well? Can I do that and two jobs? Am I just headed for a breakdown? I guess we will see. Actually, the stress of moving and wondering if I can get it all done has me thinking a breakdown is just on the horizon. But then again...I underestimate myself.

Hmm, well what have you thought of my year in pictures so far? I think from June on through to the end, they probably get funnier, at least for me they do. Well, maybe once I am all settled...I will talk about how this last year changed me.

Back to work for now.

The Ides Of March...

Here's is my friend, Trishy, enjoying her cocktail a little bit too much.
